With a favorable geographical position, only about 10km from the center of Thanh Hoa city and located between two sea tourism centers of Thanh Hoa province, Sam Son city and Nghi Son town, Quang Xuong possesses great potential for marine tourism, with a coastline of nearly 13km, whispering casuarinas, and gently sloping beaches; fine, beautiful sandy beach; fresh and abundant seafood; it is also an ideal resort for tourists during hot weekends away from the city center or other crowded tourist destinations. In addition, Quang Xuong also has many beautiful landscapes along with majestic mountains and a system of Yen, Hoang and Ly rivers around the Van Trinh mountain ranges (Quang Hop commune), Lau mountain (Quang Linh commune), Hoa Truong mountain (Quang Truong commune), Chet mountain…, which is the ideal condition for the form of very popular picnic tourism today, with many interesting and abundant outdoor activities that attract many family members to participate such as walking, climbing, climbing. boat, fishing, sport, campfire, camping, sleeping in tents,... Visitors can also experience "one day as a farmer" at clean vegetable gardens, concentrated fruit orchards with VietGap standards in Quang Luu, Quang Yen, Quang Hop, Tan Phong town...Not only that, Quang Xuong is also famous for traditional craft villages such as Quang Phong rattan, Quang Loi fishing village, Quang Nham, Quang Hai. Especially, Quang Yen commune also has a source of hot mineral water located at a moderate depth, which can be easily exploited for tourism, especially tourism for rest and convalescence for domestic and international tourists.

Not far from Thanh Hoa city center and Dong Son district - the cradle of the ancient Vietnamese people, Quang Xuong district is also a locality full of cultural and historical traditions, with 38 ranked monuments; in which, there are 3 national-ranked relics, including: Gep Ferry Wharf (Quang Trung commune); Temple of tombstone Bui Sy Lam (Tan Phong town); Tomb and temple of Hoang Bui Hoan (Quang Trach commune) and 35 Provincial relics are very abundant in genres. These tangible and intangible cultural heritage values are characteristic of the imprints of the dynasties, including the space of architectural art, painting, sculpture and spiritual beliefs created by the Vietnamese people. People are creative, imbued with humanity, creating many emotions for literary and artistic creations and are invaluable assets of generations of Quang Xuong people. 

Cultural and spiritual instructions have been invested in restoration, embellishment and promotion of values, contributing to promoting tourism development, annually attracting tens of thousands of tourists to visit such as: Mau Xuong Pagoda. (Quang Luu), Dien Phuc Pagoda (Quang Thai), Dong Pagoda (Quang Thach), Dai Phuc Pagoda (Quang Ngoc), Tran Nhat Duat Temple (Quang Hop), Phuc Temple (Quang Nham), … Quang Xuong also preserves many traditional festivals and unique folk art forms such as blessing festivals, swimming rowing and wrestling festivals, house and game singing, Tu Huan performance, Quan boat singing,... and some quintessence of craft villages such as: woven bamboo and rattan mats. All these traditional beauties have contributed to creating a special Quang Xuong district, both adapting to the modern life rhythm of the integration period, while preserving the "country soul" imbued with Vietnamese identity.

In order to promote tourism development of the home district, over the past time, the local government and people have actively invested and upgraded the tourism infrastructure system. Currently, Quang Xuong has built 36 tourist accommodations with a total of more than 340 rooms. In addition, a number of infrastructure projects are being built, such as: The world-class Quang Yen hot mineral water resort complex project of Sun Group; Project of hotel complex, commercial center and Project of hotel, tourist service, resort villa and Golf course project of BRG Group in Quang Nham commune; Thanh Van Eco-Resort Project (Quang Luu) … To attract investment resources in the field of tourism synchronously and professionally, up to now, Quang Xuong has had many zones that are approved planning such as: Tien Trang marine eco-tourism urban area (about 100ha), Bac Gap service, tourism and commercial area (about 82ha), Binh Duong eco-tourism area (about 8.5ha) ), Thanh Van eco-tourism resort;… Although Quang Xuong is not far from the center city, along with convenient transportation system including National Highway 1A, National Highway 45, Provincial Road 504, Provincial Road 511 running through, the district continues to invest in roads connecting regions in the district to the dynamic economic centers of the province, creating favorable conditions for exploitation and maximizing the potential and advantages of local tourism. In particular, the completed coastal road will contribute a significant part to stimulating Quang Xuong beach tourism in particular and the district's socio-economic status in general. Quang Xuong also focuses on improving the quality of human resources working in tourism, guiding people to learn tourism, in order to bring best experiences to tourists when coming to Quang Xuong.

With a favorable location, diverse and abundant potential, it can be seen that Quang Xuong has conditions to develop a general economy, in which tourism is an economic sector with high development potential. Quang Xuong is actively developing a tourism development project to 2025, with a vision to 2030 to concretize the goal of making tourism become one of the key economic sectors, accounting for a significant proportion in the economic structure.
